Dog-dog

I finally found it!!! (Picture me doing a happy dance.)

For Jonah’s first Christmas, we gave him what immediately became his security blanket/stuffed animal/best buddy. Had we known that he would become so attached to it, we would have bought more than one of them! Anyhow, he calls it “Dog-dog”, aka “White dog”, and he sleeps with it every night. Sometimes he refers to it as a he, but more often than not it is a she. :-) He used to take her everywhere that he went, but now he only totes her around if he’s really tired or is having a hard time emotionally. Jonah and Dog-dog have been through a lot together and she is definitely his most prized possession… hands down.

Many times I have feared that Jonah would somehow lose Dog-dog. If something were to happen to her, he would be absolutely crushed. So, ever since he was 2 years old, I’ve been searching for a replacement Dog-dog. And I haven’t been able to find another one. Until tonight. Hence, the happy dance. In fact, I found two of them. On Ebay. I love Ebay. I bought both of them.

I think that we’ll go ahead and give one of them to Jonah and then save the other one to give to his first baby one day. How fun is that?

UPDATE: Well, 1/2 of my money has been refunded because even though the seller said that he had 2, he really only had 1. That’s okay though – I’m so excited for it to arrive and surprise Jonah!!

About Anna

I've been married to my college sweetheart for 17 years and we've been in full or part time ministry ever since. I am a stay at home mom who homeschools our oldest son (11) while our youngest son (9) attends public school. Having adopted both our kids, we are big fans of adoption. My oldest has Asperger's Syndrome and my youngest has been diagnosed with a mood disorder, possibly bi-polar. I also have two long-haired dachshunds that I adore - Eli and Graham. I enjoy camping, watching movies, listening to and singing all types of music, and just spending time together with my precious family.

I remember dog-dog. I bet Virginia could make one for him. She can make anything.

I haven’t been to your blog in a while, so I’m just now catching up.

We bought a replacement “Baseball Guy” a year or so ago, and fortunately haven’t had to use it (it’s definitely a lot cleaner and newer than the real Baseball Guy, so Nolan would know the difference for sure).

And Emily has gotten super-attached to “Rosie,” as we call her, Baseball Guy’s pink little sister.

You sure know how to pick good lovies for kiddos! We started off giving them lots of different lovies, and they both became attached to the ones from you!
