Homemade Cleaners

I know that there are lots of recipes out there, so I’ll add a few of the ones that I use, too!  It is so much cheaper to make your own household cleaners, and so much better for your family and your environment to not use harmful chemicals.  Click on this link to read more about the harmful effects of chemicals.

All of the recipes below can be used in a plastic spray bottle from the Dollar Store.  Just make sure to clearly label each bottle!

Window Cleaner

Just pour club soda into your spray bottle and use it to clean windows and mirrors!!  How easy is that?

Disinfectant Spray

Fill a 16 oz. spray bottle almost to the top with distilled water.  Add 3 T. of unscented liquid soap and 30 drops of tea tree essential oil.

All Purpose Cleaner

1 c. white vinegar and 1 c. water in a spray bottle.

Wood Floor Cleaner

Fill a 16 oz. spray bottle – 1/2 water and 1/2 white vinegar.  Add 20 drops of peppermint essential oil.  Spray this directly onto your wood floor and wipe up with a rag or with a hardwood floor mop.

About Anna

I've been married to my college sweetheart for 17 years and we've been in full or part time ministry ever since. I am a stay at home mom who homeschools our oldest son (11) while our youngest son (9) attends public school. Having adopted both our kids, we are big fans of adoption. My oldest has Asperger's Syndrome and my youngest has been diagnosed with a mood disorder, possibly bi-polar. I also have two long-haired dachshunds that I adore - Eli and Graham. I enjoy camping, watching movies, listening to and singing all types of music, and just spending time together with my precious family.

Cool, I’ll have to try some of these. And yes, much cheaper than spending a fortune on chemical free cleaning products from the store!
