My hair rinse “recipe”

I have had a lot of people who have expressed interest in my shampoo bars, which thrills me yet also surprises me. I didn’t expect them to sell so quickly and so I need to make a bunch more this week! Anyhow, because of the interest, I thought I’d share my hair rinse recipe. I use this in place of conditioner and it works so much better on my hair!

Before getting in the shower, I fill a shot glass with apple cider vinegar (regular will work also) and pour it into a 3 cup tupperware type of container. I then take this into the shower with me. After washing my hair and right before I get out of the shower, I fill the container with about 2 cups of water from the shower head. I then pour the mixture over my head (don’t get it in the eyes!), turn off the water and get out. You could also rinse the vinegar out – I guess it’s a personal preference thing. My hair is soft, it dries faster and no longer has frizz. And I like that I’m no longer using chemicals to condition my hair.

So…give it a try. I really think that you’ll be happy with the results!

Anna, this was the way we treated our hair before we had detergents, either vinegar or lemon juice. When we just had soap and soapy shampoo your hair would be awful unless you did one of these rinses. Also if you could catch rain water for a shampoo your hair would be nice and soft. I have thought several times lately about trying the vinegar again, so now I think I will . love you.

Thanks for a great tip. I’m going to try this tomorrow morning. I have a huge bottle of vinegar, and I hate using conditioner because of all the chemicals. I’m ordering some of your shampoo bars aswell. Should be chemical free very soon!
