The Beach

The boys and I drove out to Newport yesterday to meet my aunt for a fun-filled day at the coast. (Ouch – the price of gas is ridiculous! 3 hours there and 3 hours back really hurts the pocketbook.) My aunt owns a condo that overlooks the bay – the view is just gorgeous! After we arrived, we headed down to the pool so the boys could get rid of some of their “I’ve been cooped up in a carseat for 3 hours” energy. The boys had a great time swimming and did remarkably well after not swimming at all since last summer. After that, we headed over to Mo’s restaurant for some delicious clam chowder. The waitress seated us right at the window overlooking the bay and to the boy’s great amusement they were able to watch a fisherman gut and fillet a bucketful of fish! After lunch, we headed for the beach, where the boys spent several hours searching for shells, bugs and rocks. Jaden even found an agate, which is pretty hard to do nowadays! We finished our day at the Marine Science Center. The boy’s favorite part was petting the various sea critters in the tide pool section. During the drive back to Portland, I located a friend’s audio cd of The Chronicles of Narnia in our van (I thought we had already given it back!) and so the boys were entertained and quiet. What a great day.

About Anna

I've been married to my college sweetheart for 17 years and we've been in full or part time ministry ever since. I am a stay at home mom who homeschools our oldest son (11) while our youngest son (9) attends public school. Having adopted both our kids, we are big fans of adoption. My oldest has Asperger's Syndrome and my youngest has been diagnosed with a mood disorder, possibly bi-polar. I also have two long-haired dachshunds that I adore - Eli and Graham. I enjoy camping, watching movies, listening to and singing all types of music, and just spending time together with my precious family.

I think Jonah actually looks a lot like Scott in that last picture! His facial expression especially. Your boys are both growing into handsome little men.

Great pic. Number 3 looks like a picture we have when they were younger. Tell the boys I like their hats.
