When we first moved into our house a little over a year ago, the previous owner had done a lot to fix it up beforehand. New kitchen and bathroom counters, new kitchen and bathroom cabinets, new paint on all of the walls…Wonderful! The only problem was the color of the paint that he used to paint the entire interior of the house. It’s a sort of grayish brown with this odd tint of pink to it. In other words, it’s ugly. Very ugly. But it was fresh and new so Scott wouldn’t let me repaint, so I’ve been patiently waiting for the day when he would change his mind. And a couple of months ago, that day arrived. Scott gave me the “ok” to paint our bedroom and the kid’s bedroom. I excitedly made a trip to Miller Paint and purchased 2 gallons of their greenDevine paint – it is 99.9% VOC free and the stuff is incredible. Birch for our bedroom and Georgette for the boy’s room. Back in early March I was able to paint our bedroom and had planned to paint the boy’s room soon after. Then, I had an unexpected ski accident. I busted my knee and I’ve been limping around ever since. And the walls in the boy’s bedroom were destined to remain ugly for a while longer. Until today that is. Today while Scott and the boys headed on over to the mountain I decided that it was time to paint. So I bravely hobbled about the room and managed to paint the entire thing in only…5 hours. Yes, it took me 5 hours when it normally would have only taken me 2, but I did it and I’m proud of my work (and Scott says that I’m stubborn)! I’m exhausted, but it feels so good to have it finished.
