We had such a great Halloween this year. Jaden dressed up as a bunch of spilled spaghetti and meatballs and Jonah dressed up as a cool cowboy. Around 4pm, we headed down to the Gresham Town Center and let the boys trick or treat from the local businesses there. Then we went out to dinner [...] Scott has been teaching the boys how to manage money over the past year. They each opened up a kid’s bank account. Every week, they earn a dollar and once per month Scott sits down with them and they divide up their wages. They give some to the church, some to the poor, some to [...] One of the many things that I love about schooling the boys at home is that we can take a vacation whenever we want - even if it’s only 2 weeks after school starts!! And that’s just what we did this past week. My in-laws flew in from Texas and we all headed over to [...] A couple of weeks ago, we signed up to receive our local newspaper, The Oregonian. We mainly use the paper for making fires in our woodstove. Anyhow, the guy who sold us the subscription gave us 4 free tickets to see the Portland Timbers - soccer!!
